James Repock

James Repock was born east of Terris roughly thirty years ago. His father, being a carpenter, had a project to be done on a strange island somewhere far west. Having no fare for boat, James, the youngest of three brothers, agreed to go into slavery for a wealthy retired merchant on his private island to the southwest for fare.

James, a few years later, had learned that the merchant had decided to leave everything, including himself, to an old wizard that resided in Devardec. James knew, however, that the deal his father made with the merchant was to be that as soon as James turned eighteen, he would be released and sent back to work for his father.

James walked far out to the woods one day, gathering branches, sticks, ropes, vines, and whatever he could find, to start to build a raft. After four long years, at the age of 17, the raft was sea-worthy. The merchant however, was getting sick and weak, and James knew that his master would die shortly.

Six weeks later, the merchant passed away. James gathered every thing that he could carry in the house, including gems, jewelry, and an ivory katana that had been made by his older brother, and set sail for Terris, where he knew he would be safe from the wizard he was about to be enslaved by.

James arrived on the shore a few days before his eighteenth birthday. He traveled to his now residing place of Devardec, and sold what he could. He then took a glance toward what would change his life forever. The Dark Cellar.

As arriving into the Dark Cellar, James had tripped and fallen over something on the stairways. He picked it up, and was about to throw the cursed thing away, but he seen something that bell, himself...dirty, bruised, and incomplete. He polished the bell on his shirt, and tucked it away in his back pack.

Lost in the streets of Devardec, James wandered up to a building which he did not recognize. He greeted Keraptis, who was looking quite dissapointed. He unpacked the bell, and offered it. He became a member of the Monk's guild, and shortly after recieved his light and robes from Radiance.

All was going well for James, untill he had recieved a message from back home. His father was fatally sick, and his presence would be appreciated. James, taking his four thousand gold pieces and putting his eagle in the stables, arrived home a few months later at a dock a mile north of his old village.

He walked the way, and discovered that his entire village had been burned to the ground by a group of Mercenaries hired by the Lord of the island. James learned on the capital of the island that they we're hired because James father had planned a building different than the way the Lord wanted it to be built.

James felt anger flowing through him. He went back home, and gathered what little possessions had survived the flames. He lockered them in another city, and bought himself a home, and erased Terris, and everything about Terris, from his mind.

James, now at the age of 29, knew that killing the Lord on this island would be not only be stupid, but it would be uncoorninated. He learned that the Lord was looking for a group of warriors to aid him in battle against a revolting village. He set sail for Terris, not knowing that James had snuck aboard the same ship.

Night had fallen a few hours before the ship reached shore. James, always keeping his faithfull katana by his side, entered the cabin of the man who had killed his father and his family. The Lord was sleeping, and James hid himself in the darkness. As the Lord awoke sometime before dawn, James assassinated him, the katana hitting fatally in the back of the neck.

James sneaked off the ship about a mile from the dock, as then he could not have been spotted and accused at the ship docked. He swam to the island, avoiding creatures at all costs. He reached the shore, and made his way back to Devardec, we're he reentered the Monk's Guild for the first time in ten years.

James had slept a very long time, tired from his swim. When he awoke, he found all of his old guild mates downstairs. He greeted them- each was suprised to see his face, thinking they'd never see him again, not knowing what had happened to him. That was last year.

James is thirty now, and is completing his interviews for the Temple of Justice. He is interest in joining the HouseHold of Humour, and has even slain his first Eye Demon with the help of another monk. James...

Is he back for good now? Or is this just a short term for James...time will tell, friends.

Time will tell.
