Tessae's Story
Part 1
It begins where it ends, in nothingness. Tessa had left her home island of Winterbeach, where it was always snowing but nobody was ever cold. She was 18 and decided life existed outside of the small island, so she took her copy of the family pie recipes and left. Before she left, her mother came to her and said, "Tessa! Where are you going?"
She simply replied, "I am off to find some fun ma. There must be life outside this island!"
Her mother sighed and said, "Well I knew this was going to happen one day. Just don't die at sea like your Uncle Sammy did."
Tessa laughed at her mother's joke and gave her a great big hug with all her might, thinking it may be the last time she would get to hug her, and walked to her father's small sailing boat and got in. As she pulled up the anchor, her mother cast a spell on her. A periwinkle glow sat upon her and then soaked in. Tessa called to her mother as the wind took her boat and said, "What was that?"
Her mother called back, "Pie Resistance. You'll need it if you ever make it to anywhere!"
Tessa saw that the wind was carrying her boat away and yelled "How long will it last?"
Her mother called to her, "A lifetime or a few years. Who knows?"
Those where the last words she heard from her mother, and then she saw the island of Winterbeach no more...
Back to the nothingness. This is where our story really begins. Tessa is swept into the dark blue sea during a storm and knocked unconscious. She dreamt of nothing and woke upon a beach. The only thing she still had was her book of pie recipes, which she clung to even in the darkness. She got up and noticed her clothing had become rags. Seeing a simple wool robe she picked it up and changed into it. She also saw a cloth skull cap. It made her look bald, which was better than the huge knot her auburn hair had become. She decided to wear it till she found a bath. Tessa then spotted a large city north of her and began to walk towards it...

Part 2
I had left the beach and the remainders of my ship and had stumbled into the confusion the streets of Tranos right off the square. I got directions from a kind stranger, of whom I didn't know his name, on where to start on my first day. I was shown the adventurers guild where I gave my yellow flower which I picked up on the way because it looked pretty to me. I gained my first 4 levels and was promptly kicked out the fighting area. I took with me
some skills and a tiny heal spell and proceeded outside the guild.
I wandered straight into a grinning female monk on top a large spider! Imagine my surprise. I still did not know much of mounts and other sorts. I was truly awed by this lady monk and on top of all things but a spider! I thought surely she has courage! I also thought to myself, "Surely this woman must be a great monk and will keep me on my path!" So I bowed to her and ask her about where the Monk's Guild was, thinking that would be a good place for me if I ended up like her.
She replied, "There are two. The Brotherhood and the Monks."
I asked, "Which is better?"
She laughed and replied, "Well it depends on if you like to have a good time or not!"
My answer was chucking the first pie I had made since I entered Tranos at her. We laughed together and she said, "To the Monks you go!"
I then thought to myself, "Where IS the monks guild?" as I tripped over one of the legs of her spider. I got up and asked her where it was. She said "Devardec".
I thought this was some cryptic term, I then flopped to the ground thinking Devardec was another island and said "Oh no! My boat was wrecked when I got here, how will I get there?"
She said "Its just another city silly!"
I blushed deeply thinking myself a total fool. Well, she took me to the guild and I once again fretted because I was the worst quester and still am. But she helped me get my bell and into the guild. A fine light ws given to me by another kind Monk sitting in the guild named Radiance, who later became a friend of mine. Also, another Monk named Catseyes took me to get some boots to cover my feet and a good set of mage robes. The guild with its wonderful members gave me the knowledge to grow and strive in this world I have come to love, and friends to help me along the way.
A few years after I had just turned 32, I reflected upon my life. I was 32 and had become a happy sister of the guild. My pieing skills had been passed on to my dear niece Melody and my family heritage was ensured. I has many a friend and I was now going to wed Onyx, a fellow member of the guild who had stolen my heart. I was happy but an unrest was within me. I had a future but I could not tell if there was to be anything new in it. I was unrestful with this feeling sitting in my gut for several months when I realized Onyx and I no longer loved each other, and rarely saw each other. I called off the wedding and the building of our house. Though my recollection sounds like it was a clean break it still hurt me deeply. Promptly afterwards I went to battle some squid and died. But, this time as I sat there as a ghost I realized the world no longer needed me. I heard the voice of my mother call to my soul, "Tessa, your nearest family and friends on the island are gone we are all waiting for you. Come home." I dearly missed all my family and friends so I departed this world to the next.
About a year later my soul awoke again. I heard my mothers voice again, it called to me, "Daughter, your soul is restless. The world where you lived has changed and your line is gone. Go forth and begin your life again where you left it. Ensure your family's traits and find happiness you did not truly before. Seek the adventure that you were made for. Yet your name no longer fits. Go by Tessae. For the one who is 'eternally' bound to search for adventure."
With that I was engulfed in light. Before I had realized it I was standing in Tranos Square again. Yet I felt different. My soul was the same but my body had returned to when I was 18 years of age. I had on a simple set of robes and another skull cap that made me look bald. My hair this time was not in a large knot from the sea. So, I took to the road and passed by the sea. When I reached it I threw my cap into the sea and began my trek to Devardec
and my life began again, but with memories intact of the old and ready to not make the same mistakes. Yet what was I to find? All my friends departed? My guild changed? The future was uncertain and I was glad to find my adventure again.
